Every product development starts with a why. Our why is based on a passion to simply and cost-effectively reduce the amount of CO2 released into the atmosphere with proven carbon capture technology.

Over the last century, atmospheric CO2 has increased more than 30% and is now over 400 parts per million (ppm). Widely deployed carbon capture technology and solutions are vital to decarbonization.   

​Today, our patented Semi-Closed Cycle (SCC) and CO2-TSA processes enable concentration and capture of CO2 at the distributed power system scale across a broad range of reciprocating engines and gas turbines. 

 

Our product development story began in the 1990s with the U.S. Navy and undersea propulsion technology that required no gaseous exhaust, and thus a patented and proven carbon capture process technology was born.   We recognized the opportunity to create a solution that combines the Navy's carbon capture technology with gas processing techniques used in the oil and gas industry.  

 
CarbonPoint Solutions was founded in 2011 as Enhanced Energy Group to develop commercial carbon capture solutions built on the Navy's technology. With multiple new patents awarded in the following years, the company attracted new investors and collaborated with Caterpillar. This led to the first field demonstration of the technology on a Cat® G3406 generator set and a venture capital investment from Caterpillar. Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) completed its acquisition of CarbonPoint in September 2021.
